I’ve decided to write a review because this was absolutely the
first videogame my parents gave me, it was a Christmas present, in so
far 1990, a game cartridge for my C64 (this was the main present).
Jack Attack is a simple action game where your character is Jack, a
strange, round and red coloured being, with two tiny legs and two
antennas, and always smiling, even when he’s going to die; player’s
goal is to crush Jack’s enemies, some kind of spinning heads
infesting each level. This action can be performed by either jumping
on them or pushing some blocks Jack can push or pull on them.
The character himself must pay attention to:
- his foes (they also can jump on him and kill him);
- water, a threat present in the most difficult levels;
- not to be trapped under the blocks he moves.
It was a pretty game and I spent much time playing it; now it makes
me smile; good old C64 times…
